All Alaska Juried Exhabition XXXII - The All Alaska Juried Statewide Art Exhibition occurs every other year, alternating with the Earth, Fire and Fibre: The Biennial Alaska Juried Craft Exhibition. The All Alaska Juried Statewide Art Exhibition is juried by a well-known museum director, curator, artist or critic from a nationally recognized institution. These jurors visit Alaska to look at the work and also give free public slide lectures. Once the exhibit is chosen, it is on view at the Anchorage Museum during the months of January, February and March, and then begins a year-long tour to museums in different communities around the state. The exhibition is accompanied by a full color catalog. Substantial prize money is awarded to artists, including a $1,000 "best of show" award. (information taken from anchoragemuseam.org)
